MY BOTOX EXPERIENCE WITH SPA SYDELL

October 3, 2018

Hello beauties!  Well summer is officially over according to the calendar but cooler temps are no where in sight here in the South.  But it’s all good with me because I am always cold so I’ll take the warm weather as long as possible!  During the last few months like many of you girls….my skin was exposed to the sun a lot more than normal.  With that being said there is no better time than now to rejuvenate and pamper your skin

Recently I was lucky enough to visit Spa Sydell for Botox treatment and 2 different facials. I went to their Perimeter location in Dunwoody and I was immediately impressed by the beautiful aesthetic inside of the spa.  From the calming music to the light and bright decor, the place is just gorgeous!  The staff was very warm and friendly, yet extremely professional.

While your waiting you can take a look at their menu of services. They also have an extensive product line available as well.  I’m definitely going back for Micro-needling too but first let’s talk about the services I received so far.

I’ve visited Spa Sydell on a Friday which I highly recommend depending on what services you get because in case you have any redness then you at least have the weekend to let your skin calm down a little bit. I started my visit with Melissa, who is the Director of Energy Services.  If you are in the Atlanta area and you visit I highly recommend that you ask for her. She was absolutely amazing and I had a Hydra-facial as well as the Hollywood Laser facial with her.   If you have ever thought about a hydra facial…go for it!  The hydra facial uses a little suction tool and clean out everything that is in your pores and then at the same time it flushes them with water so you have this cooling sensation that feels amazing.  I literally almost fell asleep it was that good!

After the hydra facial I also got a Hollywood Laser facial which uses a mild chemical peel as well as a mild laser and that helps with uneven skin tone and age spots as well as reduces pore size. This facial was not as relaxing as the Hydra-facial because there is a mild burning/tingling sensation.  But nothing painful.  In my opinion….mild pain means the product is working so count me in!   This facial is a great option if you have any hyper-pigmentation or age spots.  Aren’t we lucky to live in an age where we have such amazing technology readily available to us?!

Now let’s talk about Botox! I know most of you were waiting for this part anyway. For most of my life I was always that girl that was totally against cosmetic procedures. I always said I would never get Botox and just let myself age gracefully but once you reach your 30’s and wrinkles and fine lines start popping up you definitely reconsider your options.

I don’t have a ton of wrinkles but I was always self-conscious about was my 11 lines. Those are the lines between your brows that look like the number 11. As I started getting older I noticed that those lines when I wrinkle my brow would stay there even when I stopped. And eventually they started to become permanent. Mine were not super deep but they were still enough to make me feel a little bit self-conscious and I really started to hate them so I decided to get Botox to take care of them.

Just to let you know Botox is not a permanent option either. The results from Botox last 3 to 4 months but everybody’s results can be different and then you would usually have to get it again to maintain it. So you can try it out and if you don’t like it then just don’t get it again. But I absolutely love my results. Dr. K was absolutely awesome to work with.  He put a numbing cream on before and then I had five small injections in the problem area.  It didn’t really hurt, but felt like when you get Novocain at the dentist. The needle is so small so it’s not bad at all. Results do you take 3 to 4 days because the Botox has to settle into the muscle so don’t be alarmed if you don’t notice a difference right away.

For the first couple of days I felt a little stiffness in my forehead. However it went away by day 2.  By the following Tuesday though I felt like a new woman and I literally do not have any lines anymore. Botox basically will paralyze the muscle that you are wrinkling when you make facial expressions if that makes sense. These are my before and after results. I didn’t take a great photo before because I just couldn’t get the lighting right.   You can kind of see the lines in the middle of my eyebrows on the before photo.

If any of you girls are in the Atlanta area and would like more information about available services, I highly recommend you schedule a consultation at one of their 3 locations.  All of that said, I’m curious to know what are your thoughts on Botox?  Are you open to it or no way?  I love to hear what other women think of cosmetic procedures and see their results if they have had anything done. Let me know!  By the way there will also be a ladies night out at Spa Sydell later this month for all of you local Atlanta girls.  Stay tuned for that!  Also be sure to check back on this post.  I’m going to add a few informational videos I took while at the spa but I’m just having a bit of trouble getting them to upload.
